JVC GR-D350 Review:
The JVC GR-D350 MiniDV with 32x Optical Zoom features a powerful 32x high-performance optical zoom, 800x digital hyper-zoom, wide-screen 16:9 modes and a built-in tele-conversion lens. The JVC GR-D350 MiniDV camcorder is extremely easy to use. With a simple touch of a button, you can instantly switch between manual and automatic operation. At the heart of the camcorder is a 1/6-inch 680,000 pixel CCD. Other features include a data battery function that displays time remaining with and without LCD use; Live Slow, which records in slow motion while retaining real-time audio; an Auto Illumi-Light mode for illuminating dark scenes; Power-Linked operation that turns on the power and puts the camcorder in standby mode simply by opening the LCD; and a 2.5-inch LCD color monitor that delivers a bright, clear image by reducing reflection and glares, even in bright sunlight.
A friend purchased the JVC GR-D350 for his wife, and we used it to record the progress we made in renovating a duplex. Knowing nothing about mini dv’s at the time, I was able to pick up this fun little toy and get to recording right away.
I enjoyed JVC GR-D350 so much that I bought the same model for my wife, who is adverse to technology, and she loves it too.
I’ve played with other models and brands of recorder, and I still like the JVC GR-D350 because it has fairly high quality coupled with intuitive controls and camera functions that do all the work. I also got it for a great price compared to other brands with similar features.—– By Matt Horras
