After much research and reading of various reviews we settled onSamsung LNT4669 TV. Samsung LNT4669 plus HD DirecTV, and an upconverting Sony DVD player has produced excellent results. The 120Hz does work and is quite appreciated when watching Sunday Night Football (can’t stand the Monday crew), the few HD hockey games, and even action movies on the DVD.

The only con I can think of right now is I don’t necessarily need to see my news anchors in Hi Def.

On a side note, I have yet to watch an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray DVD. But I would be very hard pressed to purchase both the pricey players or the disks themselves after seeing the upconverting on standard 480i DVDs.

Oh and I saw a noticable difference between RCA connectors and HDMI on the DVD player. They are pricey but worth the $$.
